From white to WOW...!!

Extensive interior work in the Renk Farms development in Monmouth Junction.  The house started as a spacious 3,700 sq ft center hall colonial with builder grade white walls and limited moldings but that all changed as we made our way throughout the first floor. All walls painted by us. The fluted door trim throughout was made on site with a router. Coffered box beam ceiling in the dining room.  The arched opening was originally straight and the mahogany in the office was finished with a hand rubbed oil. We later returned to rip up the rugs in the family room, gently remove our molding work at the floor and install a prefinished hardwood floor,

then reinstall the base moldings.

The beginning photos with the white walls are what we started with,

then the during and after photos at the end.

PAINTING AND TRIM WORK RENOVATION

NO STONE UNTURNED. FROM SOUP TO NUTS.

This full home renovation in Milltown transformed a 50+ year–old family home into a modern, updated space for its new owners. The project included a fully reconfigured kitchen, two remodeled bathrooms, a finished basement, and structural repairs, including replacing a termite-damaged sill plate without disturbing the original plaster walls. The fragile plaster walls were jacked up without a single crack. We restored a former garage, expanded the driveway, added retaining walls, rebuilt the porch with powder-coated railings, and finished the exterior with stone and Cedar Impressions siding. All finishes and colors were homeowner-selected, resulting in a highly personalized and thoughtful renovation.

      BOOKSHELVES IN A SEWING ROOM

Filled with natural light, this Red Bank room was ideal for sewing but lacked character. We transformed the space with custom built-in bookshelves and a window seat, carefully removing and reinstalling the existing crown molding and shadow boxes to preserve proper symmetry and proportions. Though a first-of-its-kind build for us, the result was seamless—featuring full-extension hardware and maple dovetail drawers—and a very happy homeowner.

AN ADDITION THAT GREW IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE

This Lincroft home addition began as added living space, creating a true dining room and a front family room with a fireplace. Originally limited to matching siding, roofing, and new windows in the addition, the project expanded after we discovered rotted window frames from recent installations. The homeowners chose to upgrade the entire home with new Andersen windows, roofing, and gutters—resulting in a fully unified exterior and a finish they couldn’t be happier with.

FROM ALL WOOD TO COMPOSITE DECKING

Replacing old wood decking with low-maintenance composite is a popular trend, and the solid pressure-treated framework can last for decades. For this East Brunswick home, we kept the wooden handrails and refreshed them with stain while upgrading the deck boards with composite decking. During the project, we corrected framing, flashing, and lighting issues left by the original builder, resulting in a durable, beautiful deck.

      WORKING AT THE CAR WASH.

One of our most complex framing projects to date, this futuristic car wash on Route 9 South in Marlboro (originally called the Marlboro Auto Spa) remains a standout. After the concrete slab and steel frame were installed by another contractor, Pride Construction framed the challenging architectural design, including a 32-foot-tall conical exit tunnel inspired by the owner's previous employment at the Museum of Natural History. This was completed in 2000, and impressively, we had only framed two additions before this in our career—one in 1987 in Marlboro and another in 1997 in Manalapan. Inside, we installed FRP panels and insulation throughout the heated interior space. Completed as a one-of-a-kind commercial project, it helped launch our expanded work in home additions and remodeling—though we still happily tackle kitchens, bathrooms, basements, and decks, as well as interior and exterior painting.
